EN ROUTE
These images are representative of my most recent project— the En-Route Serieswhich focuses on the fleeting images glimpsed while traveling by bus or train to/from New York City over last several years.
My attraction to this transitory, marginal world goes back to my childhood growing up in Manhattan when such rare excursions out of the City were exhilarating, unexpected opportunities to daydream out the window allowing me to feel free and expansive. If I were to look for deeper resonance I might understand my present day focus on the transient, quotidian world while traveling as something of a Zenexperience that challenges me to be fully present in the moment— where once again the mundane and fleeting may be transformed.
